CMCA Covid19: Event Information

Dear Chapter and SIG Executives

As we have recently advised through our Club Newsletter and social media, each Chapter and SIG is to consult the relevant state or territory government website, for which the Chapter or SIG is located in, regarding Covid-19 rules and restrictions.

Each state and territory has different rules, so at this stage it is impossible for the Club to rule on a national policy applicable to Chapter and SIGs.

If the state or territory government rule states that all participants attending an event must be fully vaccinated, then that is what is required. Government rules will always overrule any set down by the CMCA.

Chapters and SIGs are within their rights to ask attendees to see a copy of their vaccination certificate (if required).

I hope this explains the issue and any concerns you may have.

Kind Regards,
Richard Barwick
CEO

Message from President Robert Koch – 5 Oct 2021

Hello Highway Wanderers,

There is some confusion regarding COVID requirements for chapter meetings, particularly the HWW Beewah Xmas rally. The latest CMCA advice is that participants are to comply with individual State requirements and if those requirements are to be fully vaccinated then that will be the requirement.

The CMCA has no separate COVID requirements. Queensland does NOT currently have a requirement to be fully or partially vaccinated. This means that members attending the Beerwah 3 day Xmas rally are NOT required to be vaccinated, social distancing rules do apply and members should be familiar with the Qld Health requirements including face masks in impacted local government areas such as the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

Members in other states should be familiar with that state’s requirements. Should individual States introduce a requirement to be fully vaccinated to attend gatherings such as rally’s, then we must comply with that requirement.
